NBA player Tyler Zeller was once an intern at Morgan Creek Capital Management--an $8 billion hedge fund/private equity firm run by Mark Yusko.

He told ESPN how his internship taught him valuable lessons for his career as a pro-athlete.

"I had an internship [in college] at Morgan Creek Capital Management in Chapel Hill, N.C., my sophomore year. I did it because I found it interesting and fascinating. I think I got paid about $15 an hour. It really taught me time management. I worked from 8 a.m. to noon every day, did workouts in the afternoon, then had to it all over again the next day. Getting up that early is almost unheard for a college student," Zeller told ESPN

Zeller, who recently graduated from the University of North Carolina--Chapel Hill from Kenan-Flagler Business School, was drafted in the 2012 NBA draft first round as a 17th pick to play for the Dallas Mavericks.  He was then traded to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers

The 7' 0.5" basketball player was also named Academic All-American of the Year his senior year at UNC.

We've reached out to Zeller for more about his experience as an intern.  We'll let you know when we hear back.
